If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times. Tenants who call and want an 18 foot boat storage space to park their 18 foot boat need a bigger parking space to accomodate for the trailer and hitch.

There's always one in the crowd who insist they can fit the boat and trailer in a smaller space - they upgrade every time!

I hear the reps on our call center saying that to customers all the time. They try to use a drive up storage unit for boat storage or ATV storage. We always ask how wide the boats or vehicles are and they insist it will fit.

Since we at the call center do not physically see the site, we usually give them the measurement of the door and tell the customer to make sure and check the widest part of the vehicle (and the trailer!)

I get a lot of callers like that in the call center. They think they can fit a square peg in a round hole. I always wonder what happens when they pull into the lot and realize they should've rented the bigger storage space.

and I always hope the manager has the availability or capacity to accomodate them.
