Default Counteracting Self Storage Complaints

Self Storage Complaints are something no self storage owner wants. Rumors travel quickly in local communities and a bad word of mouth reputation is like wild fire. So what can a self storage owner do to counteract a bad storage experience?

First, accept that there will be those quirky happenstances that pop up and make a tenant unhappy. What you must to is be ready when that occurs.

This may mean that the on-site manager has to come over and rent a unit after hours, on the weekend, or another time. Secondly, the store manager should be friendly and courteous, even if the tenant begins to get upset.

The store manager should use phrases like, “I understand that moving can be frustrating, I want to help you by…” or maybe a line like, “I’m sorry we are having this experience, let’s fix it by…”

Those statements acknowledge the circumstance and then start to remedy it.
