Default Storage Community Cornerstone

This was kind of a reply to another thread, but I think it deserves a deeper look. We were discussing specials and ways to make your storage facility "fun".

Here's a fresh idea:

Gather local sponsorships for a moving/relocating "coupon" book.

Default Great Idea!

That's a great idea! I use to be a residential real estate agent. I would have jumped at the opportunity to be in a coupon booklet for storage renters.

For Sale By Owner sellers might eventually have needed my services and newcomers or those relocating would need to start looking for a place to buy.

Default We're On To Something!

You heard it here first! The self storage coupon booklet could be the next big thing to the total storage experience.

Sponsors could also be contractors and repairmen (lots of tenants are storing because they are remodeling or repairing the home.)

And Family Law offices would pay to advertise with a small coupon (sadly, many tenants are separating or divorcing)

Student hot-spots would want their name plastered on student storage coupons that students hiding the dorm furnishings for the summer would see upon their return from summer break.

Default Storage Coupon Booklet

This is a nice idea! The local community network here loves to promote other local businesses.

I think a lot of community business members would be in favor of swapping coupons.

Default You've Become A Sponsor!

If your local business atmosphere is right, you could get a few businesses - say a locally owned hardware store, a law office, and a real estate agent - to sponsor your coupon booklet.

They would pay the printing costs, in exchange for premium ad spots!

I like that - the storage coupon booklet. Our town hangs doorhanger coupons on the doors in various neighborhoods. Imagine if our storage facility were a major participant in that!

Default Sky's The Limit

These are great suggestions. I am considering them and all the directions a storage news or storage coupon book could go in our local communities. There are endless possibilities.

Default Good Ideas

Hey, these are really good storage sales ideas. I hope to see that some of you get a little coupon booklet started in your community. Focusing on locally owned stores in your area would be a good idea (chains and franchise managers usually don't have the power to make those decisions)
